This here is a traditional piece of Irish music entitled "The Battle of Aughrim", named for the bloodiest battle in Irish history in which the Jacobite Army was defeated by the Williamite army and, subsequently, Ireland fell into control of the English (12 July 1691).
This arrangement is based on the one I learned from Glenn Weiser. I recorded another version on a nylon guitar that is a bit softer, but this is a passionate tune so perhaps it's more suitable on the steel string. I'm still trying to figure out how to get the best sound recording with my Camcorder so it's a learning process. Thanks for listening check my page for more.

  • @DzikiKoniu No we cant see, you camera should be in front of you and even then its too complicated to learn the fingerpicking. Maybe by ear, but seeing a tab really helps, for somebody who is starting like him or some poeple : )

  • @themeleed In many countries the B is substituted with an H...

  • @themeleed Yes you are right :) the H was there because I'm from poland, and in this country everything is far from being normal e.g. here instead of saying B we say H (don't ask why)

  • Tabs? great tune by the way.

  • @roboczyroboczy EBGDAE is standard tuning (going from the highest pitched string to the lowest)- there's no H in music it goes a-g then stars again at a (well g# if you want to be technical with it heh).

  • @roboczyroboczy wtf is ehgdae tuning?

  • Can anyone tell me what is the tuning of this guitar, is it standard EHGDAE or not? I'm just beginning to play guitar and trying to learn this song.

  • who disliked this?

  • So i see christmas lights on the reflection of the guitar, did you happen to get that guitar for christmas?

  • hasnt eluveitie also played this one?...whats the name?

  • There are obviously 8 englishmen out there, opposed to the many Irish

(you see what I did there? english isn't capitalised, but Irish is... Subtle right?)
