Brick and the Dazz band are two different groups. Brick is from Atlanta and the DB is from Cleveland and never shared members.

By the time this song became a radio hit, the band Brick had changed their name to the Dazz Band, so the original poster did not make mistake, Brick and Dazz Band are the same guys. I was in high school at the time (wow I'm old) and I remember the song and the band. Great song!
