@2778ma if mom is on her back, baby is supposed to come out facing downward, toward the ground. posterior means baby is facing up. it can mean a difficult labor because instead of the point of the head (the cone part that babies have when theyre born) coming first, its more of the top of the head which is harder to mold and squish to squeeze out.
I too had a posterior baby, hard work for sure, took two hours to push him through my pelvis and he had a mighty big head too not fun! Congrats to you, I feel sad he got whisked off though and you didn't get to have skin to skin straight away, was he ok?
@KamaRama84 it took two hours for me to push too, but because my body was pushing and i wasnt allowed. i had a lip of the cervix left! thank you... they thought he had a broken clavicle because something popped really loud when he came out. nope, it was my tailbone! ouchie. i didnt break it, but it was sore for a long time. i got to have skin to skin very soon after that and they dont do nursery stays there, so he's been with me ever since! :)
omg that sounded horrible did u do that all naturally?
that must have been worst pain in the world!
cant believe u were strong enough to do that!
