  • Template oversizing: Assuming the removable bushing on the router inlay kit is 9/16" and the router bit is 1/8", then the margin around the edge of the template is 7/32". I arrived at this number by subtracting the removable bushing diameter by the bit diameter (9/16" - 1/8" = 7/16") and then dividing that by 2 ( 7/16" / 2 = 7/32").

    Note that this is a margin _around_ the template, so a 4" circle would require a template that is 4-7/16" in diameter ( 7/32" + 4" + 7/32")
