In this part of the episode, Sigurd and his army begins to march onward to Barhara to greet Alvis for the success of the battle won. Sigurd can't wait to see King Azmur and apologize to him, but, it seems that isn't going to happen...

...as Alvis tricks Sigurd in lining himself up and sentences him to death for treason! Just to add insult to injury, Alvis has Dierdre come out to slap Sigurd in the face mentally. She has no idea who he is anymore...though she seems to start to remember when Alvis forces her back. After that, Alvis and the Velthomer units all attack, causing everyone in Sigurd's party to scatter, while Sigurd dies from the wrath of Falaflame.

So ends Chapter 5 as well as the First Generation of Fire Emblem: Genealogy of The Holy War. Don't worry...even though this is looking pretty bleak, there's always a light that will continue to shine...

...in the Second Generation!

  • wait, since they attacked and/or killed the prince of Silesia as well as a knight from there as well as the princess of Isaac, shouldn't those 2 countries go apeshit mad and go to war with Alvis?

and i thought he liked his brother? what of that?

  • It's confirmed that both Fury and Levin lived after the attack; Silesia likely just let it go. As for Isaac, look at the start of Generation 2.

Alvis didn't care one whit about Azel if was a means to an end.

  • @MageKnight404

wow.....what about the other countries whose nobles/citizens were among Sigurd's group?

  • Surprisingly, no one really cared aside from Lenster, who can't do a thing because of Leaf's age(and this is where FE5 takes over).

  • ...

I can now almost understand why this game has never been slated for a Western release.

    So much pain. ;___;

  • It all changes for the better in the second generation. It takes a while, though. :x

  • I give the developers of this game so many props for having enough guts, and being bold enough, to do this. Very few games kill off main characters, let alone an entire team you invested hours in. I love it :)

  • When I finished this chapter I thought

    "Fuck you Alvis"

  • That last bit was arguably the biggest fuck you in the series...

Sigurd was dicked over by Alvis, accused of treason, watched as his wife was now the wife of someone else, and more or less brutally murdered.

  • Alvis has to be the worst brother figure in all Fire Emblem. He "loves" Azel enough to burn him to cinders and Deidre... well, yeah... :x

  • @MageKnight404 Wow fucking Alvis. "Azel means the world to me... BURN, BABY, BURN!"

  • hey, every one's dead? really? everyone???? GAAAHHHHH ALVIS! YOU ARE REALLY SON OF A $H!T !!!!!

  • @MageKnight404 Actually I read on FE wiki the other day that Azel was kept alive by Alvis the Asshole because he was family but died of some sort of sickness while imprisoned... Azel is my favorite character in Gen 1

  • O.O Epic douchebaggery beyond Douchebaggery!!!!!!! Alvis deserves something far worse than death.

  • So basically Nintendo just gave you a huge middle finger....

  • @MageKnight404

    plotholes ftw!
