my dad and me used to know former RSM and later drum major of the Queens Own, Syd who just passed away this yr, son of late Sgt John Rocky Andrews, 48 th Highlanders of Canada ,Stuart

The house in the background is the "Maison Queens Own Rifles" the first building liberated by Canada on D Day. Liberated by the Queens Own Rifles stationed out of Toronto. This is a famous house seen in many pictures of WW2. I was lucky enough to take a Juno Beach Tour in July 2009 and this was a stop on the tour. You can still see places where the house has been repaired from the shelling of D Day. God Bless the Queens Own Rifles out of Toronto, brave young men.
