the recent documentary Mining The Cloud Forest tells of a town in Ecuador that successfully ejected an aggressive mining company from toronto, using video evidence of their violent attempts to storm in and capture the town leaders to coerce a trade agreement through threats. The activist network that helped equip the town with video cameras and legal advice to organize their resistance also helped sue the company itself and have its stocks removed from the toronto stock exchange as disreputable.
