It's time for a historical battle from the 4th Macedonian War. This is the 2nd Battle of Pydna pitting the Macedonian upstart Andriscus against the Roman legions of Quintus Caecilius Mettelus Macedonicus.

I command the Thracian-Macedonian army of Andriscus.

My opponent, Ewen, commands the Roman army of Quintus Caecilius Metellus Macedonicus.

@GeneralHaseth1 You're on the wrong patch. You need patch 1.5 of Rome Total War. If you have an old patch, then it will look like everyone is playing Barbarian Invasion (even though they're not).

@junshooter12 isnet i obius that you just have to change the unit size ? it can be done in options i think, besides this is only second largest settings at huge some gruppes have over 240 men.

You can get ur army this big by setting unit size to large or uge when you create a game.

Wasn't the roman commander for the second battle of Pydna (168 BC) Lucius Paullus?

Quintus Metellus was the commander for the "first" battle in 148 BC

@MrXdeadX Legions are typically composed of around 5,000 soldiers. They are split into what was called "cohorts" which are basically squads of smaller amounts of men. A cohort is usually divided into around 300 or 400 men, give or take. Hope that was helpful :)

god I hope someone comes out with a mod where there is a unit in the Macedonian army called "the Prince's Guard Pikemen" or something just for you! :D they could be like all decked out with really cool Macedonian armor and they are Uber-powerful like Spartans and all of them have your face! :D that would be so epic!
