Dances from the PCC in Hawaii during our recent vacation. Have you been there? The evening show is spectacular.

im so sad now cuz they turned the night show into some Broadway crap, there is nothing Polynesian about it, I mean they took away the guy throwing the fir knife down from the waterfall to the guy on the stage!
I love the samoan dance though, that would have to be the funniest part of the show lolz

I went with a school group in 2001 when I was 10 years old, so needless to say I didn't get to enjoy nearly as much as I wanted to. I wish I could go back, but now I'm broke because of college! Oh the memories. I browse the PCC website several times a week. I really want to go back. I feel like there's this empty space because there was so much I wanted to see and do, not to mention my dad threw out my old camcorder tapes. It's terribly saddening :(

I personally know many employess of PCC; dancers, Maori village chief, costumers, musicians and show directors. These are wonderful, talented people who are trying to educate people and promote your culture. Also, PCC is the only way in which many Pacific Islanders are able to obtain an education. I don't understand where your hatred of PCC arose, but why not help educate people instead of tearing everything down?

Everyone knows the fete of today isn't the same as centuries ago, but I still love it nonetheless. What was lost will never 100% be regained. But of course that doesn't mean we shouldn't try our best to preserve our cultures as best as possible. However, pulling down something that actually promotes culture isn't helping either. My time at the PCC inspired me to learn more. No, the PCC will never be as good as the real thing, but it is certainly better than nothing.
