International Travel Tips

Its important to understand that International travel you are allowed much heavier baggage than Domestic travel, make sure you know the exact specifications before you fly. Also the electricity grid Internationally is different in each country, so take an adapter with you.

Protecting Your Documents - Your Passport is the most important document while traveling. I suggest leaving it in the hotel safe when you travel around the city.

Common Tourist Scams - The two most prevalent tourist scams are unlicensed guides and selling of fake goods. Be wary.

Staying Connected - My suggestion is get a local cell phone. Do not take your cell phone from your home country and travel around the world with it. I've done it before and I have had thousands and thousands of dollars of roaming charges. I will never do it again.

Tips for Women - It's really important to stay in groups. Don't venture off alone, dress conservatively, and if you have a real issue, immediately go into a hotel, go into a restaurant, go into a shop and say 'look I'm in trouble, please help me'.

Tipping Internationally - Each country has different tipping customs. So go onto the internet and do a little bit of research to find out exactly what you need to do when you get to that given country.

International Car Rental - Watch out for hidden fees. Make sure that you have everything explained to you before you drive off. Very important.

Protecting Yourself from Pickpockets - Be aware that there are pickpocketers out there and they will target you. I suggest you buy a nice simple money belt and that is pickpocket proof.
