The weapon was firing Winchester Universal bulk ammo from Walmart, $22.97 per 100 rounds in my area. The hulls are extremely soft and distort easily which causes them to catch on the barrel hood or feed ramps. Overall, I am happy with the results and expected to have at least one failure of some sort. These weapons are somewhat picky with ammo, but they can be made
to run well with nearly everything if you know what you are doing. I hope this video will inspire you just as the "Van Killer" video inpired me a few years ago. Keep your barrel hot....

  • I have seen over on the Saiga 12 Forum. Quick question! Does the Saiga 12 take the same folding rear trunnion as an AK47/74? Where did you find your front latch? It takes a special one right?

  • @HarleyF250guy

Yes, this was a 5.5mm Russian triangle folder and trunnion from KVar. Some are clearnaced at the top of the forks of the trunnion for a Saiga 12 carrier and some are not and required some grinding/filing. The front latch is Saiga 12 specific and I got all of mine from AK Builder, but he has not had them in stock for a while now. Contact Cobra's Custom. He may have the whole kit except the retaining clip. Hit me up at saiga.12.com.

  • @bluestudio67 The Russians have a lot more of these Saigas than you do... And theirs are full auto...

  • OK. I have FINALLY found the ultimate world takeover weapon. Who needs nukes?

  • @NosferatusDragula

I have only tried it once with a Saiga 12 and didn't do very well. Couldn't seem to get more than 3 shots off at a time. I may revisit it.

  • I should buy one of these for when the zombies take over, but i'm gonna need a lot of those magazines and about 1000 rounds.. :D

  • that would be a sick duck hunting gun lol

Figure out exactly where the trigger releases the hammer when you pull it (the break). Figure out exactly how far forward you must let the trigger go forward to reset. If you can make a habit of doing this, you will be able to use minimal travel and effort mamnipulating the trigger, which = speed.

Sounds like you need a bullet guide...

    Check your PMs....

  • @evlblkwpnz I see. You probably have more than one s12 then. For the crisp firing you do, its appropriate, but for me, trigger pull isnt that bad when it comes to a shotgun.

Do you work on anything else on the saiga platform? I had quick question regarding getting an ak mag to fit in my 7.62x39 rifle.

  • @TheyxSeexMexTrollin

I have seen a few "pro" trigger jobs on AKs and Saiga 12s and I have never seen a trigger job that goes into as much detail as I do. I do it because I want that particular trigger to be excellent. The "pros" do it to make the trigger "better" and make some money for the little bit of time they spend on it. I was never taught how to do it. I just stared at the trigger and how it interacted with the hammer and figured it all out.
