My internet goes out daily, and here's a video of a ping to an IP and the cable modem's status page. The connection comes in for about 20 seconds and then drops out for a while. The signal seems inconsistent. I can temporarily fix it by unplugging the coax, then the power, let it sit for a minute or so, then plug in the coax, then a short while later the power. This advice was given to me by Comcast tech support. If I don't do the temporary fix, the problem does resolve itself (last time it took about 6 hours).
