Illegale fazantenjacht

In december 1998 start Mattheus Bleijenberg (dierenbescherming) een actie tegen het illegaal fokken en uitzetten van fazanten voor de plezierjacht. Naar schatting gaat het om tienduizenden dieren per jaar die voor het jachtplezier worden gefokt en uitgezet. Vaak door jachtopzienders die de jacht juist in de gaten moeten houden.

Hunters themselves ARE responsible FOR Game Laws!

For Game Limits! And For Hunting Seasons.

And give valuable info to Govt on feedback of gam-nesting habits etc.

Pheasants are released into the wild, only to be killed within 2 years by raptors,foxes cats.

Wild boar cause immense damage to the crops and to the eco system.

If not For the hunter,their destruction would be untold, as is,#s are only managed.

Deer cause deaths & Billions in auto collisions & Must be managed.

@drogoBROADBAND I surely believe this. i am 15 years of age at the moment, therefore, i have no weapon just yet. iv'e grown up in a family where this is natural, and a big part of my youth. Hunters are very important to keep the balance going in the nature. i am now closing this discussion, because iv'e already been there, and people are either stupid, or very fucking naive to believe that hunting is for killing only, and not regulations.

A bit like how some religions want to kill others but if they stopped to think why, they dont know. It is just what they are told to do, no thought behind it. If you didn't have a gun would you be as eager to go and kill something, a gun is so convenient, makes you feel powerful, important..and you can talk to other people with guns about your gun

@therallyfan Not to mention that the main risk to human health comes not from wild birds or animals but from those on farms, pigs, sheep, cattle, poultry. Do you think breeding so many pheasants in such conditions is good for their health and the control of disease? Pheasants up until recently were treated with a chemical to prevent Tricomoniasis that has been proven to cause cancer in humans. The chemical Emtryl was then banned but many breeders still have sacks of it and continue to use it.

@therallyfan There are many species of raptor very close to extinction today like the Montagues and Hen Harriers, all at threat by the shooting fraternity. No animal has ever caused the extinction of another, only mankind is capable of that, and the majority of cases of extinction are down to hunters. Are you proud of that, an entire species that existed for millions of years wiped out...FOREVER? Hunters do not 'regulate' anything, they just interfere + destroy. Maybe 1 day they will be extinct

....in their greed consider gamebirds more important than the rarest of birds of prey. All species existed on this planet in far greater numbers long before 'hunting' with guns became fashionable. They didn't need our intervention then but when guns arrived you shot the Bison to near extinction, as well the extinction of the Passenger Pigeon, The Great Auk, The Atlas Bear, The Quagga, the Eastern Elk, the Eastern Cougar, The Cape Lion, Caspian Tiger, Western Black Rhino and many others.

@therallyfan That is just the sort of lame excuse for killing that you would expect from a self-righteous hunter. Since when was it the responsibility of men with guns to control animals? We had natural predators that controlled fast breeding species till men with guns shot them as well, bears, wolves, foxes. They ate pigeons, rats, mice, rabbits, deer and many others. Many species of birds of prey have been shot, trapped and poisoned because 'hunters' like to shoot pheasants, and gamekeepers...

@m0pardave no, it's not. this video gives us hunters a bad reputation. Hunters regulate animals, so they won't overgrow. And if there's too many animals, thare are bigger chances for the animals to be sick, and possibly make humans ill. that's to prevent stuff like the bird flu
