@MemphisFlash You are correct. But this is not standard. It takes at least a good 12 years of Practicing both the meanings and the movements behind the Long Fist to really get a handle on what it is that you are doing when you learn it... Until that time, I am still just practicing it. I started to learn it about 4 years ago. I am blessed to know such wonderful things...

@WingChunGeologist well from what i`v read it was created by the emperor taizu based on long fist and liu he ba fa and is in fact the precursor to tai chi

I've read several descriptions of Emperor's Long Fist. Some describe it as a softer form of external Shaolin, kind of a missing link between Chang Chuan and Tai Chi. Others leave me believing that it is a set from the Chang Chuan style.
Which is true?

Gong fu as a word and difinition has nothing to do with martial arts which is wushu by the way WU-means martial;havin to do with fightin or military skills and-SHU-means art, skill, technique. Gong fu is just a horrible slang for chinese martial arts used in america and sometimes in hong kong by europeans who got confused when in the past the masters said you have "good/bad gung fu" which means "aquired skills" and they ignorantly thought "oh must mean martial arts".

This is standard 'traditional' Shao-Lin Gung-Fu,...NOT 'contemperary,competition,gymnastic,floor-routine,modern Wushu! Our miss-use of the Chinese words, turned into 'slang' terms are incorrect anyway! "Wu-Shu" literally means; "War-Skills",...and 'Gung-Fu' means hard-work and long-time. Si-Fu Mark
