RECS (Research Experience in Carbon Sequestration) is the premier carbon capture and storage (CCS) education and training program in the U.S. In June 2011, RECS was held at the University of Alabama at Birmingham for 30 early career professionals, graduate and Ph.D. students. The program, a collaboration between EnTech Strategies, Southern Company, Alabama Power and SECARB-Ed, was sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Fossil Energy and the National Energy Technology Laboratory.
