In the 2008-2009 NHL season, the Rangers had one of the worse power plays in the National Hockey League. Gone were the days where Jagr, Straka, and Nylander worked the cycling magic to perfection. Now it was a bunch of players with no chemistry and no confidence to shoot. Tortorella said after the Rangers were eliminated in the playoffs that the poor terrible power play needed to be revamped.

Hence, the signing of Ales Kotalik. Here the newly found PP QB in rookie D Michael Del Zotto shares the point with Kotalik. He spends time mostly just feeding Kotalik...and here's why.

This was Kotalik's first NHL goal as a Ranger and his first of the 2009-2010 season (10/05/09 - 3rd Game)

  • everyone gets lucky...

  • his best game for us all season lol did u see all those ranger fans in new jersey? hahaha

  • anyone sure kotalik didn't just trip and fall to stop that shot by accident? i mean it is Ales..

  • Yeah Kotalik did great, that's why they traded him. Now he's Calgary's problem.

  • kotalik sucks he got traded

  • he's also a pylon when it comes to playing defense

that's one of the big reasons the rangers already traded him

  • I'm sabres fan so I've seen my share of Al. If you dont know yet you'll soon find find out the guys got a nasty wrister too, plus he's THE best player in shootouts. That being said, give it about 20 games before you start pulling your hair out in frustration. The guys got all the tools to be a 35-40 goal scorer but plays way too soft. He'll show flashes of being a dominant power forward (hes a rock, 6'1 225ish) but most of the time hes not willing to initiate contact and hits goal droughts.
