Project Angel Food's mission is to nourish the body and spirit of men, women and children affected by HIV/AIDS, cancer, and other life-threatening illnesses.

From our kitchen, Project Angel Food staff and volunteers cook and deliver free and nutritious meals prepared with love.

We act out of a sense of urgency because hunger and illness do not wait.

Our meals, prepared by professional chefs and volunteer assistants, are nutritiously-appropriate, attractive and always made with the freshest ingredients. Our registered dietitians provide clients with individual, nutritional counseling. There is no charge to clients for these services.

Volunteers, who help in the kitchen and make the deliveries, are a crucial component of our program. While the immediate need we fulfill is the prevention of hunger, these caring individuals also deliver compassion and help reduce the terrible isolation that many people living with serious illnesses often experience.

Clients are grouped into 90 geographically-based routes, ranging from Lancaster to Long Beach. Volunteers using their own vehicles deliver from 6 to 10 meals per route. Our central kitchen is located in Hollywood. Meals are also distributed via satellite drop-off points in North Hollywood, Pasadena, Silverlake, Santa Monica, South Central Los Angeles and the Antelope Valley.

Since its inception in 1989, the Project Angel Food Program has prepared and delivered more than 3.4 million meals. Last year, the Project Angel Food Program prepared and delivered 412,446 meals to 1,600 individuals.

Jean Louisa Kelly is best known for her roles in the feature films "Mr. Holland's Opus," "Uncle Buck" and "The Fantasticks."

She had a starring role in "Cold Feet." Her other television credits include "Mad About You," "Law & Order" and "Homicide."

Kelly comes from a musical family and has sung from the time she was little. She also studied ballet, tap and jazz dance. She began performing professionally at the age of 11 in the title role of "Annie" at the Theater by the Sea in Rhode Island. At 15, she appeared in the original Broadway cast of "Into the Woods." She most recently starred in the Reprise! production of "Company" in Los Angeles.

Michael Charles Chiklis is an American actor. He is known for starring in two police dramas: The Commish (19911995) and The Shield (20022008) and as Ben Grimm, The Thing in the live-action Fantastic Four films. He also played Curly in the Three Stooges biographical movie.

Chiklis has a role in the 2008 film Eagle Eye as the United States Secretary of Defense.

Derek Hough is an American dancer and choreographer. A former world champion in Latin-American Dance, he appeared on Season 5 of the ABC television series, "Dancing with the Stars" with actress Jennie Garth (earning 4th place in the competition), and was eliminated during the 7th Week of Season 6, earning 6th place with actress Shannon Elizabeth. He has returned for Season 7, this time partnered with Brooke Burke. Hough has also been featured in the track Dreaming Under The Same Moon of his sister, Julianne Hough's self-titled debut album.

Derek formed a band called Almost Amy with long-time friend Mark Ballas.

Mark Alexander Corky Ballas, Jr. is from London, England, where he began his performing career. He remained in London until 2007, when he moved to the US.
Ballas is a professional ballroom dancer on the ABC program Dancing with the Stars. He began competing on the show in the fall of 2007. He is also a singer/songwriter/musician for the group Almost Amy, where he composes the groups music, plays lead guitar, and sings lead vocals.
