As you can see there are some new special effects added, sounds, explosions, background as well as a clearer picture.

The the fan edit was completed in 2008 and can be found on the net for downloads.

Wow! The Final battle is MORE intrenese with more starfighters on the screen! It's looks more like the way I expected the movie to be! (intense like in Return Of The Jedi!)

This edit is amazing. The sound of that opening just blows me away. And it is so good to see the colours restored to the way they were before the awful special editions. Now where is empire strikes back? We've been waiting since 2010!

seriously can't tell this movie was made in 1977
