You know in Corinthians it also states that women are not allowed to speak in church, that they should remain submissive to their husband. Yet this obviously doesn't happen. Another example of mistranslation. Interesting how some religious folks will admit to mistranslation for certain things, yet rail against it on other things.

@mark40511 Actually, we don't believe that this is a mistranslation, but simply an example of how some rules in the Bible are merely cultural and some are not. When asked "Where does the Bible approve of gays?" we would respond "Where does the Bible approve of women praying with the heads uncovered?" The response to THAT is often, "Yeah, but those laws about not eating shrimp and men not having long hair were just cultural. Homosexuality is different." And we say, "prove it."

I am gay and was raised christian . when the subject of homosexuality came up i would cringe in fear i prayed every night that i would wake up and be str8, But it never happened. I'm a gay man and a Christian. It's wierd, but nobody I know has read more books about Christianity. I'm convinced that homosexuality isn't the end of the world! On the other hand, promiscuity and over the top Gay Pride floats aren't a good idea....Sigh, I wish I could meet a decent gay Christian. I'm so lonely! We're such a miniscule minority.......Oh well...... sigh
