unfortunately the sound of the guitar is not the best. I prefer the sound of the old mosrites used in the sixties by the ventures. Really more brilliant tahn theses ones. At last they played on Roland jazz chorus amplifiers not the best thing to play surf music.

Nokie's technique is completely virtuosic. I have little doubt guys like Paul Gilbert were seriously influenced by him. His right hand is flawless.

@Elwood2911 I agree, it is not a requirment to cut faces while playing guitat. Chet Atkins doesn't. Nokie enjoys what he's doing or he wouldn't have done it this long and as well.

Is it necessary to "look" like he's having FUN. What an asinine comment. Anyone who plays as well as he does is in total concentration on what he's doing. For one thing ( of many) he's counting ... how long to hold the notes,he's concentrating on keeping time, so the song doesn't speed up and slow down all over the place.He plays by ear, so he has to calculate ( in nanoseconds) where he is in relation to the others. SMILING is optional.Just enjoy the music,fool.

@C4103 The guitar that Nokie is playing in this video is not a Mosrite. It's a guitar of his own design named "The Hitchhiker". I believe that he used to produce them for purchase. He may still have them avalible at his website. I'm not sure. Sorry, I don't have it anymore, but I'm sure you can look it up online.
