Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire review (Spoiler Alert)

My old review of the Goblet of Fire. Quite a difference between my old score and present score on this one.

um i don't get it? why did ur score change from a 8 to a 6? does it have something to do with the release of the seventh book? i think the goblet of fire is a really cool movie and i like the fact that they cut the quiditch section, because the whole quiditch thing is getting a little old. anyway that was a pretty decent review.

Thanks for your comment! :-) To answer your question, it changed from a six to an eight because I didn't like how Goblet of Fire only had main plot points, and when I originally saw it, this was not something I took into consideration. The omission of the Quidditch match is not the reason I lowered my score.

It was just because the director completely cut a lot of what made the book unique, fulfilling, and engrossing, the movie comes off as very episodic and very much like they were going through a list of plot points that they needed to be included. It didn't flow very naturally at all. I'm okay with removing book plot points for a movie - what I'm not okay with is when removing those plot points makes the resulting movie not a good movie in itself.
