i always say that EPMD were ahead of their time with the samples they chose. this Joe Cocker sample was slept on back then but fast forward 6 years later in '95 "California Love" is a big hit. i honestly believe if EPMD waited a few years they would have been huge outside of rap, but theyre still rap legends & pioneers
