Chris Spencer is a versatile comedian and actor with irrepressible flair and commitment to his art.

The Los Angeles native began his acting career at age six, starring in a national television commercial for Mattel's "Tuff Stuff" toys. He later earned a Bachelor of Arts in sociology from University of California, Los Angeles, but decided to continue with his real love -- performing.

Chris Spencer co-starred on the television series "Soul Food," and had recurring roles on "The Jamie Foxx Show" and "In Living Color." He has guest-starred on "The Chris Rock Show," "The District" and "Rude Awakenings." He claims to be "almost famous" thanks to his role as the first host of the late-night talk show "Vibe."

He brings all of his experiences "with crazy women" to play Devon on NBC/Bravo's hit "Significant Others." His feature film credits include "Two Can Play That Game," "The Sixth Man," "Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood" and "Sin." Chris Spencer has appeared in more than 30 commercials.

He hosts "Chocolate Sundaes," one of Los Angeles' hottest comedy shows and a collaboration with his childhood friend and executive producer Leland "Pookey" Wigington. The name of the show represents their philosophy of diversity -- the mixture of many ingredients needed for a chocolate sundae. It illustrates the variety of races and cultures seen in the show and in the audience. Comedians, such as Cedric the Entertainer, Chris Tucker, Mike Epps and Jay Mohr frequent the stage with Chris Spencer during the popular show at Hollywood's Laugh Factory.

Spencer's stand-up comedy has also been featured on such shows as "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and BET's "Club Comic View."

In addition to being an actor and comedian, Chris Spencer is also an accomplished writer. His writing credits include the popular book "150 Ways to Tell if You're Ghetto," the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards, the 2003 ESPY Awards, and the popular comedy specials "Jamie Foxx Unleashed -- Lost, Stolen and Leaked!" and "Jamie Foxx: I Might Need Security."
