@PaintItBlackMarilyn they said it was too hard to depict on film. Like to just see her writing wasn't as strong as seeing art

Marvel, Olivia and woman from Argentina... What was her name? Amelia? They are important charaters in the book. Astrid had difficult times at Amelia's house. She and other girls starved. And Claire was supposed to be skinny with short dark hair, like Audrey Hepburn.

@PaintItBlackMarilyn According to IMDB: "showing an artist working was deemed more watchable than showing a writer writing."

@jiangwanyi thank you ...and i just bought the book yesterday haha

@rionicole96 If you read the book, you would know. Marvel adopted Astrid before Claire, and Olivia is the girl Astrid hang out with.

who are marvel and olivia?
-
i was expecting Claire to look like a lovely "classic" woman with dark brown hair. i actually said WTF out loud when i saw her

All those people who say claire isnt beautiful. She is! Why the hell do you guys think you can say that someone is not beautiful? And beauty is more then just the outside.

i love renee's form in the running scene.
i too was disappointed that marvel and olivia were not in the movie and that Mac happened before Claire. but this is why i read the book numerous times and only watch the movie a handful of times

Weird. I was expecting Claire to be really strange and beautiful looking, with a large edgar Allen Poe forehead like it was described in the book. I'm disappointed.

Renee's character reminded me a lot of Marilyn Monroe in this film, her style and personality.
