The commentator has his facts a little bit wrong - Ray Gunkel was the Georgia champ, not the world champ. Also, Gunkel was pronounced dead backstage at the auditorium after that match, he didn't die in the hospital. Ox recently lost his wife Peggy Ann - he has a website and I think he'd appreciate fans sending condolences to him for his loss.

great stuff....Ox started a riot in Cleveland, and heart punch was lethal.....awesome lore

remember any wrestler can beat a entertainer

I didn't know he was in Escape.

You know, I only got to see him sporadically in the 27 yrs of my watching wrestling, but when I did, yeeesh! He was creepy as hell, and that voice! He had the typical wrestlers physique. He was briefly in the movie 'Escape From New York' with Kurt Russell. At74, he could probably shoot just fine on these guys today

Ox Baker is the true living legend of Pro Wrestling and I would be honored to have a match with him. They don`t come any tougher than him, plus the honor to lock horns with a man of his stature is monumental. Moonshine McCoy may be a good wrestler, but he wasn`t trained by Sika the Wild Samoan like I was, so I know Old School very well and that makes me a dangerous opponent to the mighty Ox. I know wherever and whenever this match takes place will be the best match of the new Millenium bar none.
