Newark High School Sinfonia competed at the National Orchestra Cup April 2009 at the Lincoln Center in New York City. The Sinfonia tied for first runner-up against several larger (and better funded) orchestras.
This video is the Sinfonia performance at Lincoln Center, part #3 of 4. It is the first half of the third and final piece played by Sinfonia: "Serenade for Strings in C Major (I. Pezzo in forma di Sonatina)" by Peter Ilich Tschaikovsky. (I had to split the video into two pieces because it exceed the 10-minute YouTube limit.)
An .mp3 version of this performance is available at:

A New York Times reporter and camera visited the students while preparing for the trip. The Times produced a video story:

And also printed a story:

And a slideshow:

Let's get more of your work on here so we can get a fan club going. Make a video interviewing the kids along with some samples of what you are working on. GOOOOOOH Bucks

The cello section around 3 min was so precise, and those fast and high violin parts were sooooo good and actually in tune. I'm so impressed because that's one tough song to play. My high school's chamber orchestra played it last year and we didn't sound half as good. Kudos.
