just so you know, I'm a drummer of 9 years, undergoing a music diploma, i play everything from jazz, latin,, metal, funk and I have a noise band. Until you start a noise band and realize how hard it is to write music that is not only disjointed and chaotic, but still powerful in a musical sense you don't have any grounding to say that this style is not technical. Given, they're simple when it comes to chords and progressions, but they're phrases and concepts are what makes them tech. =]

but even then i'd disagree with you. my view of technicality in music stems from jazz and the use of interesting phrasing, different time signatures. Bands like Dillinger Escape Plan are the definition of technical in a contemporary aspect, the chariot use a variety of different styles, phrasing idea's, lyrical idea's and a mix of time signatures which would make them "math-core" by definition, a genre reserved for more technical bands. there's more to being technical then soloing and sweeping

I'm sorry, but u need to understand that ppl have extremely different tastes, not everyone is going to like what u like. So don't tell off others and make them feel like crap just because they dont like this.And lyrical geniuses? Idk about that, i don't even understand what they're saying! Plus, I like Screamo and thrash and death metal, but this is just unbearable: there is absolutely no beat, nor melody,and the singer is not understood lyrically.

well seriously, whatever floats your boat. i saw the chariot with gojira a few weeks ago at the glass house but it wasnt the chariots best performance but gojira was static and dull

Masterpiece huh? I'm not sure I'd go that far... I see very little talent. I do not listen to Aveneged Sevenfold and Hinder by the way. Nor Fall Out Boy or "Jonas Homos". I actually saw these guys in concert with Gojira and was not impressed, but hey...if you like it power to you. I have a feeling we have very different taste.
