You're on board the Titanic when it sinks!

Imagine being on board the Titanic as it sank beneath the freezing ocean in 1912 after hitting an iceberg.

Thanks to work by scientists from Australia's leading scientific research organisation, CSIRO and the Korean Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI), this animation takes you into the Titanic as the water begins to flood into the ship.

Animators have historically found it difficult to realistically depict fluids like whirlpools or the ocean. However, CSIRO's Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics technology has solved this problem.

This animation demonstrates the practical use of 3D water in the visual effects industry. It was designed and produced by Complete Post using plug-ins and simulation data provided by CSIRO and ETRI.

@xvoy2002 The Titanic was a real ship, it hit an ice-burg, then it sank. They carried the least amount of life boats required, which was 16. The builders said it was an unsinkable ship, but that ice-berg disagreed. Took 2 hours and 50 minutes to sink.
