Thanks to a very special offer from Arriva Trains Wales, I travelled fro West Wales to Manchester for the day. The weather was superb, and I decided to view the Metrolink Tram System for the very first time. I filmed on the streets around Piccadilly, then caught a tram out to Woodlands Road in order to travel along the old Manchester to Bury route operated by British Railways. On the return journey I was fortunate to get a seat behind the driver and was able to film the whole of the return journey, although this video contains some of the highlights. This seems a very efficient and well run system, which has been emulated by other forward looking Cities throughout the UK.

  • @robmasterman No problem, At least you're not one of the illiterate children on here :)

  • @XxMCR999MCRxX yeah after market street heading in the bury direction but in the junction between the altringham/eccles direction, bury, piccadilly lines it's 10-15 mph due to people and vehicles crossing and walking on the tracks

  • @billywhite1231998 Actually on street speed is 30mph.

  • @Jonern67 mainline speed is around 50mph and city speed is 10-15mph or 12mph

  • @TheIdentCritic Thanks very much for your informative comments...Bob
