Meet our calf Yevette. She was born 33 days premature. We raised her from a 25 pound baby calf to a happy 4 month old heifer, weighing about 250 pounds. She's a little bit smaller than other calves that are her age, but she is growing so quickly, that we think she will catch up shortly. Yevette was weaned from milk replacer at 45 days of age, and at 64 days of age she moved into this pen from our calf huts. We group about 6 calves together at a time, to help them learn how to be "social" with each other while not learning to bully other heifers.
This was taken early Novemeber, when we had a nice warm 60 degree day in Minnesota....you might hear the fan in the background....we always ventilate our calf pens to make sure they are at the right temperature.
