My 11-year-old nephew in upstate New York demonstrates his facility with a hockey stick and puck. Back in the day, we did this kind of thing off the ice with something called a hacky sack, which, dare I say, was infinitely cheaper than what my sister is paying for ice time.

  • @smartfuldodger Schenectady County Airport Rink Facility (SCARF)

  • its actually way easier to do when you moving well just on ice i think

  • @skidatpow24 thanks...but, i have to admit, if one of my friends did this move out on the ice, i would fill up a pillowcase full of soap bars and beat the shit out of him

  • @MurphGiovanni you are exacly right, it might be fun and something to show off to your friends but really...that doesnt help for anything

  • fail

  • lol

  • Well... He is good for that age, but if he would be on my team.. He would be laughed out from the team...

  • @SuperColossal33 I play for a D2 college team. I'm not the greatest at all, but I have played for many years, and in my opinion this is just some showy shit that doesn't have any relevance to the game and does not improve puck control at all. If NHL players do it, then it's just for fun when screwing around. I doubt their coach actually suggests the shit. But we can agree to disagree.

to the video poster, it's "faculty" NOT "facility"

  • @MurphGiovanni

have you ever played hockey? anything that improves your agility helps in football, anything that improves your understanding and feeling of handling a puck will improve your overall puck control in hockey

go watch any nhl practice you will find players doing things like this, even youtube alexei kovalev stickhandling in pratice
