Come along with us for a tour of the van we've been living and traveling in for the past 8 months. We show you exactly what we brought with us and how we've arranged it to make day-to-day life run smoothly. Want more? • @chamblizi -We may not be the right people to ask concerning appliances. For simplicity, we choose not to use a fridge or appliances. We charge our laptop/cellphones with a simple power inverter, which works perfectly. Good luck with your new "home" and future land purchase! :)

  • Excellent job. This is one of the best videos I've see on this subject. I love how simple and neat you keep the van. It seems it would make a big difference.

Where do you shower and use the bathroom?

  • @LenoraForest - Thanks! You're exactly right... keeping things simple and neat will prevent a lot of stress and headaches.

For showers, we typically use No Rinse Body Bath (More info and review here: vagabloggers-dot-com/gear-review-no-rinse-body-bath). For the bathroom (assuming you mean in the city) we just use publicly available facilities in grocery stores, etc. We learned quickly to always make use of said facilities whenever available.

  • Very cool video. It's a little sad that so many people view this lifestyle as "having to do without" when in reality I think it offers you so much more freedom and flexibility. Living in a van or other "alternative" living arrangement is not being homeless - it's recognizing that we don't have to follow the rules set by big corporations as to what "living comfortably" is or is not. I know so many people stuck in the rat race trying to be happy with a huge home, 3 cars, bills, stress, bills...

  • @BillGoose1313 - Well said. Believe it or not, we still find ourselves in a continual state of "thinning-out". As former members of the rat race, each step toward further minimalism seems to only allow more freedom.

We don't have a problem with those who find their sense of fulfillment by following the rules set by the corporations, however, life has become incredibly interesting as we've learned more and more about what "living comfortably" is to us.

  • very cool, im moving into my rv this summer for quite a while. Ive got a dog, and housing is super expensive where i live. Biggest issue is figuring out what to keep and what to sell/ give away. Only so much room.

  • I like the tools very important while on the road...............Lot of poeple don't think about it but is very well need for small break downs..and small break downs can cost hundreds all because you ain't got a socket set to change a part yourself....
