Some of you people think that because I'm now playing Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing online that I'd quit playing Mario Kart Wii. Well, that's rather alarmist, because I'm continuing to play both. I even still play Mario Kart DS online from time to time...though I often would rather not because it's now snaker territory. I know how to snake, and decently at that. I just don't like to. I don't snake unless I find that at least oe of my opponents also snakes.
Race #1
Rainbow Road
I had to start this right from the countdown to fit the video within the time limit. The turbo starts in Mario Kart Wii are sure a lot simpler than with All-Stars Racing, that's for sure. Stupid BEN for bumping me into the Fake Item Box. By the way, take a look at the end there, when the VR is being counted up. Every one of the racers, every last one, is a Golden Wii Wheeler. The Wii Wheel seems to be astoundingly popular in Mario Kart Wii. Yet I seem to be representing the Wii Wheel all by myself in All-Stars Racing. What gives?
Battle #1
Balloon Battle
GCN Cookie Land
Whoops, I timed the accelerator button for the All-Stars Racing turbo start. But it's of no importance in a Balloon Battle. Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing doesn't have an online Battle Mode, so Mario Kart Wii's still the place to go if you crave a cartoony demolition derby. (Online, at least. There's still Cel Damage from a while ago if you want more authentic "toon" demolition derbies.) This battle was never even close. Again, I felt like I was the one doing everything for my team, except this time the opposing team was scoring a ton of points going after my teammates without me ever being able to keep up with them. Matches like these are the reason why I don't understand how anyone could have a high BR. How do you keep up with the other team if your teammates have become cannonfodder and the opposing team is taking full advantage of it? King Boo was not moving for most of the round (probably due to connection troubles), and Baby Mario was constantly getting in the way of my attacks while repeatedly trying to attack me.
Battle #2
Coin Runners
Thwomp Desert
There we go. That's more like it--a close race. I'm sure most of the other players would prefer a close race to a total blowout like before too. The cacti got me this time, to my dismay. Well, that and a last-second strike which seems to occasionally happen.
I've noticed going back to Mario Kart Wii after playing a lot of Sonic & SEGA ALL-STARS RACING is awkward as hell. Especially the drifting.

@Caniki Even more so when I have Automatic drifting on. I use the Wii Wheel for both, though, so maybe the transition isn't so awkward.
