Comparison of using identical iPad 3Gs side-by-side on the Vodafone NZ network and Telecom XT. Shows high-speed browsing and download experience both in the city and outside the city.

For coverage information on high-speed iPad usage in other areas visit:

http://www.vodafone.co.nz/coverage
Tick "3G Coverage" (red) and un-tick "Calling, 2G &2 2.5G".
Do not tick "Extended 3G Coverage" as Vodafone extended 3G does not support the iPad at high-speed.

Zoom in for high-speed iPad coverage as the iPad is supported at high-speeds wherever there is XT.

  • bit of BS if you ask me, it aint hard to reverse the results in an area with a better Vodafone signal than XT... Telecom sucks, id never give money to those clowns.

  • @b34k3r perhaps we could try, let's see, kerikeri, kaitaia, russell, paihia, dargaville, thames, waihi, huntly, raglan, te awamutu, matamata, putaruru, tokoroa, otorohonga, taumaranui, waiouru - shall we keep going - no the result will be the same right throughout regional New Zealand. Oh that's right, iPad customers only want to use them in Grey Lynn ;-)

  • @ipadroxonxt Seemling most of these locations are north of Taupo.

  • @b34k3r this is a joke right? 'cos I was getting a sore hand typing out all the locations for the entire country so I stopped after I thought the point was may. By the way, Waiouru is south of Taupo :-)

  • @luxx275 You must have an awesome iPad coz I sure know mine does not make phone calls. And being a telecom employee, yes yes and no but cheaper calling throughout the whole week, not just in the weekends

  • That last one made me laugh, outside the Vodafone building.

Thanks for this comparison, i'm definitely getting XT!

  • Can you use the same number of your vodafone cellphone for the microchip and can you use super prepay like get txt 5000 and free callng in the weeknd?

  • the receptions diffrent for both, the pricing plans for both suck, but vodafone is slightly better deal

  • Dumb faggot xt cuts out the vodafone reception, having both side by side kills the reception..... Asshole

  • @ipadroxonxt I live just out of Waihi in Waikino and telecom XT doesn't get reception here. Vodafone goes full speed on my phone.

  • seriously, good but use a speed test aswell

    ;D

  • HAHAHAHAHA... Ripped off!! Ive tried mine out in lots of places around Melbourne & always get around 4-5Mbps (4000-5000Kbps) connection.... Telecom NZ, high time you took a leaf out of the Telstra Australia book.

  • prettty conclusive really ...

XT OWNS U VODAFAGS!!1!11!1! no offense ment by this statement.. only to vodaboners

  • @albabote How long have you been working for Vodafone?

It is proven the lower frequencies (i.e 850MHz) penetrate through objects better than higher frquencies such as Vodafones 900MHz. Can you please back up your claims with some of your own video evidence?
