Great pictures. I lived in Mbala in 1995 for six months and we used to travel the hour's journey to Mpulungu regularly. We went out for the night on the lake with a group of commercial fishermen. Beautiful place although there was a dreadful storm when we were out on the lake! Pretty scary stuff.

@Microglia1 Not into Zambia, you have a 1,000Km road trip from Lusaka to Mpulungu. As far as I know they still have not re-opened the airport at Mbala, which would give flights almost to the lake.

Hi Carsten,
I was there in January 2008, and am going back to Lusaka this week, though whether I make it to the Lake again is doubtful. Hope to meet up with Toby in Lusaka.
I saw your videos - any plans to go back there?
