http://www.euronews.com/ Egypt's controversial new constitution, drawn up by an Islamist dominated parliament, has been approved in a referendum according to rival groups.
The Muslim Brotherhood of President Mohamed Mursi claimed 64 per cent voted for, though in the papers there are claims of widespread fraud.
The issue has revealed deep rifts in Egypt almost two years after the overthrow of the strongarm leader Hosni Mubarak
"We won't recognise the constitution nor the constitutional bodies because they have a false basis," said one voter in Cairo.
A woman voter, Laila, said: "The results were forged. 70 percent of the Egyptian people are ignorant and illiterate, and the 70 percent now control 30 percent of the population who are educated."
The opposition feel that the President and his backers are foisting an Islamist agenda on Egypt.
There has been violence. At least eight people have died in clashes outside the presidential palace.
The vote was split over two days because many judges refused to supervise. One prominent judge, Mahmoud Mekky resigned as Egypt's vice-president.

Not every country has to follow the American model. There's laws in South East Asian countries that don't even consider minorities.
Such is the case here. The constitution is Islamic and hence fair.
They said the country acknowledges its Muslim,Christian and Jewish citizens. That is enough. And i bet nobody even read what their actually angry over. Its trivial and stopping any real progress.

Euronews have already reported impartially on the the result of the referendum. Now there is an outcry by the minority that there has been voter fraud. It might not be true, but it's not partisan to report on the fact that there is such an outcry, because there really is. And there WERE more than a few examples of serious irregularities that took place in the election - like Christians not being allowed to vote in some places etc. which has been reported by all the major news networks as well.

I totally agree. Some people in Egypt embrace democracy only if the vote count is in their favour, if it is not then they start questioning the genuineness of the election process...Also as you said Euro news is seriously contaminated by bias.

Do a little research on the Muslim Brotherhood, you will see why they're complaining and protesting.

The Muslim brotherhood simply hijacked the revolution.

So true what that lady said ''70 percent of the population is illiterate and will now control the 30 percent of educated Egyptians'' Most islamist extremists are uneducated and would rather study at a madras than go to University.

Deal with it minority. You lost in a democratic vote. Dont cry like babies like this woman 0:35. This report sounds fair, balanced and impartial. Just as much as FOX news.
