He was 86. (May 25)Comedian dick Martin has died. He was 86 years old. Martin was best known as the absurd sidekick to straight man Dan Rowan on "laugh-in." Martin died Saturday night at a Santa Monica, California hospital. The Battle Creek, Michigan native worked in a Ford assembly plant after high school. He later moved to L-A and was bartending and writing comedy gags when he met Rowan.After Laugh-In, Martin became one of televisions busiest directors. He worked on shows including Newhart, Family Ties, and Archie Bunker's Place.Martin died of respiratory complications. ___ ___, The Associated Press.
