Canon SX130 HD video test #2 - MVI_0083.MOV

This is raw (unedited and non converted) HD video (MOV) recorded by a Canon SX130 IS camera. File size is 160mb, clip length is 54 seconds (2.96mb/sec). Zoom is 1x to 12x and back to 1x optical (5mm to 60mm). No digital zoom was used.

What class SDHC card are you using Jim I am reusing the two 8 g cards I had with my cannon and there class2 they say better to use class 6 or more plus I wont get but around 30 min per card on HD compared to 90 minutes I got on my cannon . Hopefully someone with more HD experience will chime In

@medicjimr the blank 8gb card I have shows 42' 09" record time for 1280x720 HD video and 88' 53" for 640x480 video

@medicjimr You'll need at least a class 6 to prevent any video stuttering (due to data writes) but i've used class 2 and class 4 in HD mode without problems. I think it depends on the card brand and quality. Right now im using SanDisk 4GB Class 10 and Panasonic 4GB Class 6 cards with this camera.

@medicjimr If you haven't experienced any camera shutdowns or recording errors yet you will more than likley be fine with the chips you have. I see you have been using HD format so that should be a good test. The class numbers are the speed the chips can accept data (2 mbs, 4 mbs, 6 mbs) etc. Heavy data transfers require faster chip speeds.
