  • Thanks for the kind words. On this video I am using an external chorus/reverb program from the Sony DPS-V55. I like the 80's synthesizers, especially all the DX7 versions and the D-50. Although I must admit, the main reason I am driven towards those instruments is because of their looks. I just like their design. To me, there weren't any desirable instruments after say 1991 anymore. I'd never buy a plastic silver keyboard, you know. Also, the D-50 keyboard feels really great!

  • @TeamNES1 HELL YEAH!!!

  • Epic Roland brass sounds. Spent way too much time as a youngster drooling over the Roland pianos in music stores, and of course the PC-compatible MIDI hardware.

  • Kinda made me think of Power Run by Laserdance... :3

  • Interesting sound. I thank you for me watching this video.

  • 1:28 Very nice arpeggio. :) It's from "What a feeling" ?

I think Paula Abdul used the same brass preset from D-50 in "Straight Up". :)

  • @dvamateur I agree about the looks thing, Had DX7 II-D, still have D-50 and they look so well made, the D-50 especially is a beautiful design. One of the best looking ever.

And yeah, after the 80s, all synths turned into bland black boxes OR tacky silver workstations. D50 and DX7 had a pureness of design that can't be touched now. They were also built like tanks meant for the PROS not like today.

  • It sounds like "Miami Vice" soundtrack.

  • I love the D 50 sounds. Nice playing as well!

  • Long live the D50!! And the 80's... I have a DX7 and ESQ1, used to have a D550. Are you using just the internal reverb, or external effects?

You are a great player and I've enjoyed many of your synth clips.
