I feel ashamed for saying that...
-
@lemansquattro this video actually deserves that comment, LOL
-
Wilhelm is still an adventurer, even after taking an arrow above the knee.
-
@guyveromega27 or I can read the rest of the comments to see the info is already there.

@fuckenps3 I believe the character in the original film that spawned this was called Wilhelm too. Don't remember the name of film but he was eaten by a gator (1951)
-
Sheb Wooley has been documented source of the scream. The actors in the movies were dubbed over, even in Distant Drums.
-
@fuckenps3 SWEET. Mystery solved. I like the fact that something like this exists. That A simple scream from 1951 can become such a cult effect. Thanks man, you rock.

@AetherKael "first used in 1951 for the film Distant Drums." - Wikipedia
You should be able to find the clip easily in the related videos or in a quick search.

@fuckenps3 WHAT IS the original. I'd kill to know. so to speak.

I came here to make a mildly witty remark to do with the whole 'arrow to the knee' meme, only to realise that it's been done already.
I should have known. I think I'll go die now, and make a Wilhlem scream while I'm at it...
I used to scream normally, until I took an arrow in the knee.

This is not the original usage. Just the one it was named after.
