Once again, quantity! A small amount of ethanol produces a harmless buzz. It can be used to disinfect wounds. In a large quantity it causes organ failure and death. There are many toxic substances that our immune systems successfully deal with on a daily basis. To worry about a trace amount of ethyl mercury (with no proven ill effects) in a vaccine when that vaccine has PROVEN abilities to prevent illness and death is to not understand risk management. Vaccines save hundreds of millions.

If we take into account the levels of everything chemical in everything we're definately having too much. Plus you don't know the effects of everything long term so you can't say that "It has no effect whatsoever." That is speculation.

Cytokine storms are probably more to be worried about these days anyway in relevance to vaccines and flu etc.

My analogy had to do with quantity, not allergies. No peanuts thrown into the river, as thats not how analogies work.

But to humour you, a person with allergies can be anologised as a narrower, shallower section of the river. They have a safe level(for this particular substance), but it is very easy to cause a flood with less water than, say, a wider deeper channel(a 'normal' person[control]).

@NoAntecessor yes Autism is most likely caused by genes, as the intelligent whatshisname puts it..... Watson.. James Watson (a controversial but intelligent man). AUtism could be caused by a combination of things, like everything, but mostly Genes probably, and other things may play a tiny tiny role. I mean there are several different ways probably to get autism in the whole process, but the most likely cause is genes. Watson says if you have a very smart woman and man marry, it increases risk.

Well put, hugnow. Some people have unusual responses to even small amounts of everyday things in the form of hypersensitivities or allergies. Every immune system is unique and some will react unpredictably to a vaccine. However, let me emphasize that no causal link has been made between vaccines and autism in case this conversation tries to go there.

There are, however, known reactions that can occur for a variety of vaccines, and these must be weighed against the benefits provided.
