@chikidrummer - A mic is more than its capsule. That grill and foam make a huge difference in sound. Maybe on a rainy day I'll tie some fabric around the end of an SM57 and see if I can get it to sound like an SM58.
Listening to this a second time, I have to say that while I would never use an SM57 as an overhead, since it sounds harsh on cymbals, the SM58 is not bad at all as an overhead. In the 90s, I recorded a drumkit to a cassette portastudio using a borrowed SM58, and when I listened to it years later, I thought the same thing, that it sounded pretty good. Maybe all the people blowing wads of cash on boutique ribbon mics to make their drums sound darker ought to be looking at the humble SM58 instead.
@bobbydj01 Because the sm57 and sm58 are likely the same, just the difference is the grill with the foam that the sm58 has, if you open it, it's exactly the same as the sm57, cheers!
If you want you sm57 to sound more like an sm58 to be nicer on the cymbals. just buy the pop filter thats made to go on an sm57

Snare sounds like a Caribbean steal drum that was thrown in the garbage

The SM58 tames the cymbals a bit, so I'd use that one as your overhead instead of the 57.
