This is probably the shortest segment in the entire challenge, but it also introduces a bit of controversy hence the long description.

First, equip Zidane with the Dagger, Adaman Vest and Reflect Ring, and activate the Distract ability, so that he can get Zombified in the Iifa Tree.

This is where you would go to trade in those four Colored Stones for the Moonstone on the Mountain Path. BUT, many gamers, including Atomos199 and myself, believe that it's actually better not to do this. The reason is that the four stones are more unique than another Moonstone, which you'll have at least two of anyway, so it's better to save them. The other side of the argument says that the only purpose of those stones is to get the Moonstone in the first place, and skipping a treasure is unacceptable. In the end it's all a matter of personal opinion though. We've spent a long time arguing about it on the GameFAQs boards and neither side will back down. But, this is the decision I prefer. The Coffees vs. Mini Prima Vista is another example of this which you'll see later, and once again I opt not to trade them in.

  • @1whoistornapart I hope i still get a reply.

  • @1whoistornapart hmmm....I'm following this guide and i'm exactly here at this point in the game. I managed to get here 5 minutes faster but i have a problem. In your earlier video, i didn't notice that you bought an adaman vest in the BMV yet Zidane is required to equip it, i think, for getting him zombified. Can i manage to continue even w/o it?

  • @1whoistornapart I'm not telling you that you're wrong but to me it seems common sense that owning the prima vista itself is evidence that you previously owned the 3 coffee's in which case you have possessed all the items whereas owning the 3 coffee's shows you have yet to attain the prima vista. The completionist in me says the model should be attained. I agree about the moonstone whole-heartedly however. A moonstone is a moonstone, in this case you CAN have your cake and eat it.

  • I feel that when you don't trade in the coloured stones or the coffees, it's like you're not finishing a sidequest. I mean, there are plenty of key items that you can't have at the end of the game, why can't these be some of them. Then again, getting all items isn't that important to me in a perfect game. I prefer to do things like max stats and all sidequests and things like Ruby's line at the beginning of the game that takes forever to get.

  • oh i see thx =)

  • good point! three more things to add to your key items!

  • Different people, different definitions of perfection. I wouldn't even call the Coffee/Mini Prima Vista thing a sidequest since there's no practical benefit to doing it, it's just another useless item. I just prefer to have three useless items rather than one useless item :P

  • i thought in order to have the perfect save that you had to complete the coffee quest? or did you not go for an entriely perfect game?
