"Waddaya doing?"
"I Fell...but I like this position"

@flyingSnakess: It's so funny how people like to judge others without knowing what the f*ck they're talking about.

My bird does that

@philwarinsky It requires a LOT of training for a bird to lie on its back. It is their most vulnerable position!
You have to build up a lot of trust before it will do this trick. Good luck!! :P

Maybe he was having a medial event (heart attack or shakless seisure? This is very puzzeling. Could he be playing dead? Facinated. My girlfriend and I just got one and we are learning all we can. I will sing out if he do this! :) and Sorry for your loss.

My birds don't do this but I did know a Cockatoo who would lie on it's back and play with hanging toys with its feet. Sometimes birds just find different ways to entertain themselves, they are quite intelligent after all.

Sorry for your loss. :(

When you ask what he's doing I can just imagine a little voice saying, "I'm resting my feet! You try standing 24/7!"

I love how Leo's giving you the "'Sup homie" look.

It's a conure thing :)

I just found your videos of Leo. What a delightful little guy he was. It's so unfortunate that he died so young. The laying down on the back thing is a pretty common behavior for a Conure. Not sure why they do it but they seem to enjoy just chillin' out like that.
wow my cousin's baby cocateil did that, then minutes later it died...is it still alive? i mean this was posted 2007...

My African Grey did this one day several years ago. He's never done it since.
I mentioned it to his breeder, and she just shrugged.

@Byrnzi360 Yeah, this is the only time I ever saw him just chillin' like this on his own. Of course, I taught him the roll over trick later on.

sorry to hear about your Leo .. I'm a leo (sign) so that kinda hits home evne though that's probably just his name ^_^: I've lost several birds in my time and I'm not even 30 yet D: every one even the ones that didn't like me hurt deeply when they died cause I love animals even if they aren't perfect.
