Web cam sees where frames have changed enough to trigger a note, using the OSC protocol , from quartz composer. This signal is used by OSCulator, who converts it to MIDI. The MIDI output of OSCulator is hijacked by MidiPipe, which filters out unwanted notes according to a set scale. MidiPipe also adds 100 ms between the note on and off messages. Programming isn't by me really, just modifications and different uses for others work.
