My sister and few of her friends played homeless during her rebellion age of 14, even though we got about 20,000 a month and her allowance was 100 a week, I was 11 and mine was only 40 :L, lol she made sum extra cash tho, like an extra 100. My mom would carry around 5,000 in her purse and she wouldn't know my sister stole a 100 bill out of it lol. This was in japan tho, so carrying that amount isn't scary along with wearing 15,000 in jewlery. Now we are poor, 300,000 in debt christ!

My heart so goes out to this poor girl. If I were close I would more than be willing to get her back home and help her anyway I could. My prayers go out to her and all the ones who are in her situation.

@patsaxon Maybe families don't have the resources to take people in indefinitely. You also don't know the family dynamics. Sometimes people have messed their families over too many times in the past.

Drugs, alcohol, and bad attitudes play big roles in the lives of many homeless people. The simple fact is that no matter how much you might have sympathy, care, or concern, and show these traits it in ways that you can personally manage in regards to the homeless, many of them think the world owes them something. There are people who think of themselves as slick, just waiting to get over on "nice" people. They think nice = stupid. A lot of street people are like this, and take pride in it..

@elainebmack be problematic to allow someone like this into your home--never know what they'd do--maybe even harm you

Again, the statement that "people just walk by". What does she expect, to have everyone swoop down and give her all the money she needs and/or wants? I don't like the implicsation that the average person is uncaring, cold, and unfeeling just because they walk by without stopping. Maybe they just gave their last change to the homeless person in their neighborhood or just down the street? I always hear people say "don't judge". Well then, don't judge non-homeless either.

@micmoable . You assume that people have not tried to help her. The last thing anyone should do is take in a drug addicted person. They can be very dangerous, and most times will steal from their well meaning host. There are ways to help a homeless person, but let's be realistic. Taking them into your home is not the best way. Sometimes people have personality issues that make them difficult to deal with.

@kungfoolai With that many teeth gone, it's possible she did a lot of Meth. I'm not saying it "is" the reason though or that it makes her a bad person automatically. Sometimes people do things because they follow what they are born into or don't have caring people in there lives to guide them or give mentorship so they can see there is much more to life. She looks so young and this is just sad :(
The majority of homeless are alcholics and drug addicts, this is why its best to give them food, water, or clean clothes. Never give them $.

It's sad---she is a human being that deserves a ride to Seatle---somebody ought to have compassion on her somewhere in Chicago----Live that christian walk and help a fallen and down person in need--BUT NO, MOST WILL PASS HER BY THINKING SHE'S JUST A NO GOOD ON DRUGS---but even someone on drugs needs to be shown some light and given a chanc to redeem themselves!
