Some group had the 80 anniversary of the opening of the terminal yesterday. It was good to see it again (been 30 years) but sad to see it in the state it was in.
there were doors to seperate the open air from the terminal, the real reason why there are birds in the concourse is becuase the terminal was no longer in use when the movie was filmed and birds can easily get into an abandoned building
by the time the movie was shot the terminal was abandoned and in a poor physical shape so it is possible that the doors were open, missing or damaged and there certainly wasnt anyone to keep them out
