P-Bass Slap Funk #3

5-day weekend calls for some bass action. This is just a quick jam as usual -- plenty of mistakes. Recorded using my webcam program instead of direct upload, so the quality may not be horrible.

Man I didn't think p-basses could deliver this tone. What amp you runnin it through?

It's actually recorded without an amp, using a Korg Pandora for the drums and compression, and a Lexicon Lambda as a USB audio interface (if you look closely, you can see it on the bottom right corner of the vid). If I remember correctly, this bass had fairly new strings, and medium-high action. That way, the tone isn't too docile or too clanky.

@seinfeldbass so you just went direct, bass into Lambda hi-z input?

Been thinking about getting the lambda to record some guitar and bass on my laptop and wondered how it would sound going direct into it, with no DI box.

This sounds really good, nice fat low end. Nice playing.
