iRobot has shrunk the Scooba to about half the original size. How does it work, and how did iRobot pull it off? Read more: http://spectrum.ieee.org/automaton/robotics/home-robots/irobot-scooba-230-how...

  • Flexible active reservoir? The rest of us just say plastic bag.

If you used quadrotors to carry these Scoobas around as needed, you could clean your entire house. Up and down stairs, even tabletops.

  • I would make a robot for cleaning toliet that spreads water and soap water as crazy 360 degree. and the whole area around the robot will be cleaned.

  • HARD ASSSSSS NIPLEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

  • @TheHomeAppliances Ohh ok thanks

  • @anarkistraeven It is just a bladder/baloon which is first filled with water/solution and then as it gets empty, the place which it takes is now taken by the second bladder with dirty water. In that way additional space for second water tank (for dirty/clean water) is unnecessary - space saved so Scooba can be SOO small! ;-)

  • @sagemaster There are many differences between BIG and SMALL Scooba. Main is the lack of 'preps' mode (vacuum function) in 230 and ability to clean only small areas (up to 150 sq ft), where BIG one can wash from 250 sq ft (5800's/330's) to 500 sq ft (350's) or even 850 sq ft (380's/385's).

  • @jeffmerch Yes, it cost same as big Scooba 5800.

  • @TheSkyeagle77 It washes, scrubs, squeegees and pre-soak (second "washes") to remove all soils.

  • So how does it work..?

  • This is a good improvment. I have pets so i bought the first scooba because I constantly needed to vacuum. The number one thing I found that bothered me was that it didn't like the pet hair to much. I was able to save it once, but the second time not so much. How does the new one handle hair? Also will you be making a carpet version?
