I love to build things. Typically it's model kits I work with. However every few years, I design a new computer for myself and get to build that. If you've ever wondered how tough it is to build a computer, watch how simple it actually. You can save hundreds of dollars by DIY. Of course, as you'll see, you are your own tech support and troubleshooter.

  • Always a good idea to Pwr down when messing with cables

Remember SATA Port 0,1 (White) are dedicated to Speeding HDD and ports 2, 3, 4, 5 are normal HDD ports. So install your OS on ports 0,1 and riad the rest how you want.

Trust me I've done this with my ASUS Maximus II Board and it took me 2 days to get this whole SATA mess figured out.

    Good luck, great video.

  • I test drives for hardware failures all the time. The most reliable method I've found so far is a freeware app called Western Digital Data Lifeguard. It has a quick (~2 minute) test and an extended test (usually a few hours). If it passes both you can be sure it's 100% ok, but if it gives any errors (even if it says it's fixable) it's basically ready to die and you should back it up ASAP.

  • Fascinating like a carr wreck is. I like my machines to play nice with each other, then do my bidding. When they give me a hint of trouble it's the hammer for them.

  • I forgot to mention that you were handling the cards and mobo without using an anti-static strap. You have a heat problem exacerbated by static electricity build up caused by you....

  • too much heat, you should use full tower case, group drives in sets of two and add hard drive coolers, you should also close the case

  • Youtube is making changes again so I have to look for your ComputerBuild series Ep.11 Install last wire and 10 Crossed wire
